It is a common acronym used to describe the common motivators behind insider threats: 1. Money– Financial gain or personal debt may drive insiders to steal, leak, or sell sensitive information. 2. Ideology– Personal beliefs or political affiliations can lead individuals to act against their organisation. 3. Coercion– Insiders may be blackmailed or threatened into compromising security. 4. Ego (or self-importance)– Personal pride, resentment, or the desire for recognition can push individuals to exploit their access or harm the organisation.
