Fraud Triangle
It is a model that explains the three key factors that drive individuals to commit fraud: 1. Opportunity– The ability to exploit processes, controls, or oversight weaknesses, enabling fraudulent activity. 2. Pressure (or Incentive)– Personal or professional stressors, such as financial difficulties or unrealistic performance goals, that motivate fraudulent behaviour. 3. Rationalisation – The internal justification or reasoning that allows the individual to see their fraudulent actions as acceptable or harmless.
